From shopping bags to a town-wide campaign

In 2018 Sustainable Woodstock joined the Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Communities programme and began working with residents, shops, cafés, workplaces and community organisations to reduce avoidable single-use plastic.

The aim is practical rather than purist. Plastic is useful in many settings; the problem is the throwaway culture around products and packaging designed to be used once and discarded.
